Small business grants of up to $20,000 are available for at least 20 Claremont businesses. The deadline is quickly approaching to submit interest through a simple lottery entry form. Business owners have until February 15, 2024 to be considered. This program is for businesses that have been in continuous operation in Claremont since March 19, 2020 and with fewer than 100 employees.
The Claremont Small Business Grant Program utilizes American Rescue Plan Act funds to assist small business impacted by the pandemic. Eligible businesses will receive $15,000 to retain a job for a low- or moderate-income person. Grant funds can also be used for a variety of expenses, including rent and utilities, purchasing inventory and supplies, payroll, employee hiring and retention, and marketing.
An additional $5,000 is offered for businesses that participate in the Claremont Colleges IC2 Internship Program, which provides Claremont Colleges students the opportunity to serve part-time, paid internships with Claremont-based small businesses. Work areas for interns include website improvements, marketing, social media management, business process improvement, market research and analysis, supply chain optimization, and product development.
Businesses selected through the lottery will be required to fill out a longer application and provide supporting documents. Click here to fill out the one-page lottery entry form.
Business owners who submit a lottery application in time will be notified by February 26 if they are eligible to move forward. If selected, businessowners will be required to complete a longer application with supporting documentation by March 28.
